About

Dr. Lee Sternberger is the Executive Director of the Institute for Global Engagement at Western Washington University. There, she leads the efforts to internationalize the campus, the curricula across its seven colleges, enhance study abroad, and support international students and scholars.  Her research interests include the assessment of international and multi-cultural learning, the development and success of international higher education consortia, and the psychological meaning and interpretation of classical and neo-classical architecture.  Sternberger earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Washington State university, and a second master’s degree in architectural history from the University of Virginia.  She lives in Bellingham, Washington with her husband and two cats, Buster and Pixie.  Dr. Sternberger has lived, worked, taught, researched, and presented around the globe.
